Brad Hendry started riding motorcycles when he was 11 years old. His racing career began when he was 12 years old on the motocross tracks of Colorado and South Africa. Brad raced motocross for almost a full eight years before retiring during the summer of 2002. With more time on his hands he decided to play rugby for his university team. That only lasted a couple of months, because late 2002 he went to see his first MRA road race and decided that rugby was going to have to wait.
By 2003 Brad was roadracing in the MRA and moved up to the expert ranks after his first event. At the end of the year he had finished consistently in the top five of the 600cc expert races and won many amateur races. In 2004 Brad went AMA Supersport racing for the first five rounds with two top 20 finishes. In the MRA he brought home consistent podiums on his 600 and added a new challenge towards the end of the year; riding a 1000cc sport bike. For 2005 Brad stayed in the MRA and raced in Open Superbike and the premier Race of the Rockies class. When the season was done, Brad had moved from finishing tenth at round one to winning at the final round. 2006 was a fantastic season for Brad. He finished top 20 in almost every race he entered in AMA Superstock and finished 20th for the season. In the even more competitive Superbike class Brad finished 22nd overall.
2007 brings a new challenge for Brad. He will race one bike prepared by Foothills BMW/Triumph Motorcycles, his primary sponsor, in the 2007 MRA season. The amazing BMW R 1200 S will be his bike of choice for a chance at the Supertwins GTO and Heavyweight Superbike championship. Brad will also be racing a 2007 Yamaha R1 for Colorado Powersports and Faster Motosports. The superbike Yamaha will take Brad to a Race of the Rockies GTO and Open Superbike championship run.
Brad first raced for Team Motorrad at Iowa Speedway, helping the team to 3rd in class and 3rd overall. Brad will run future events with the team, including the 8-hours at Daytona in October.
